Our School Weight Room is open for community members to use!  Please read through all the rules and hours to make sure our weight room is the right fit for you.

    RULES & REGULATIONS:
    • Members are not allowed in the school locker rooms. Use restrooms near the weight room or multi-purpose gym.
    • Weight room hours are subject to change at any time
    • Do not let anyone use your fob or let anyone in the weight room.  If failure to comply, your weight room privileges will be revoked.
    • The weight room will be closed on holidays and when school is canceled
    • No horseplay at any time
    • No foul Language
    • No food or drink allowed in the weight room. (Water bottles will be permitted) 
    • Do not sit, stand, or climb on the various lifting apparatus during your rest interval
    • Wear proper lifting attire
    • Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times
    • Never lift free weights without a spotter
    • Return all weights to their correct trees
    • Always use a clip when using lifting bars
    • Be certain weight pins are properly secured when using weight machines
    • Do not drop weights
    • No children under the age of 12 are allowed in the weight room
    • Supervised weight room for highschool students is Monday-Friday 3:15-5:30 pm. Otherwise, a supervisor/coach must be in the weight room whenever a student is in the weight room
    • Do not prop the weight room doors open under any circumstances
    • Do not open the weight room door for anyone

    Sexual harassment or offensive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated in the Lake of the Woods School (Refer to Policy 413).  Please report any behavior that you feel is inappropriate to the Community Education Office.

    These rules and regulations exist for the safety and respect of all patrons.  School personnel reserve the right to dismiss anyone for failure to comply with these guidelines.

    Hours are subject to change.  The school building is closed on most national holidays and any called snow days.

    WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNIFICATION FOR USE OF LAKE OF THE WOODS SCHOOL DISTRICT’S WEIGHT ROOM

    This will be signed when completing registration. 

    1. To the best of my knowledge, I am in good physical condition and able to use Lake of the Woods School District’s Weight room facilities. I understand and acknowledge that it is the Lake of the woods that all individuals participating in a fitness program should consult a physician before using Lake of the Woods School District’s Weight Room facilities and equipment and to abide by any limitations set by the physician. 
    2. I fully understand and agree that in using Lake of the Woods School District’s Weight Room facilities and equipment, there is the possibility of accidental or other physical injury, up to and including death. 
    3. I understand and expressly agree that all use of Lake of the Woods School District’s Weight Room facilities and equipment are and shall be undertaken at my sole risk. I fully understand that no supervision will be provided. 
    4. I understand that the Lake of the Woods School District makes no implied or express representations or warranties as to the condition of the facilities and equipment. I further understand and agree that by using the Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room facilities and equipment, I expressly assume and accept any and all risk of any injuries or death that I may suffer while using the facilities. 
    5. I expressly agree to waive, release and hereby discharge Lake of the Woods School District, and its officers, officials, agents and employees from any claims, demands, injuries, damages, actions or causes of action, whatsoever to myself or my property arising out of or connected with the use of any of the equipment and/or facilities of the Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room or of the property or premises where same are located. 
    6. I further agree to waive and release the Lake of the Woods School District, and its officers, officials. agents and employees from any and all liability for any economic or non-economic loss, damage, expense or injury, including death, that I may suffer resulting from or arising out of any activity within Lake of the Woods School District Weight room facilities which may or may not be the result of negligence, active or passive. This waiver does not include any injuries that I obtained as the result of willful, wanton, or intentional misconduct. 
    7. I will accept liability for injuries to or damages to the property of others arising out of or connected with the use of any of the services, equipment and/or facilities of Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room or of the property or premises where same are located that has been caused by my negligence or willful, wanton, or intentional misconduct. 
    8. I further agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Lake of the Woods School District, and its officers, officials, agents and employees, from any and all claims for injury or property damage resulting from my actions arising out of or connected with the use of any of the services, equipment and/or facilities of Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room or of the property or premises where same are located. 
    9. I understand that access to the Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room is limited to those individuals who are authorized by the Lake of the Woods School District to use the facilities and equipment and agree that my access key, fob, or card may only be used to permit me to access the facilities on my own behalf. I expressly agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Lake of the Woods School District, and its officers, officials, agents and employees, from any and all claims for injury or property damage that occur as a result of my permitting an unauthorized individual to access or use the Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room or the property or premises where same are located. 
    10. I understand and agree that the Lake of the Woods School District reserves the right to prohibit or restrict my use of the Lake of the Woods School District Weight Room facilities or equipment if I violate any of the Lake of the Woods Schools District’s policies, rules or procedures. 

    I have read this Waiver of Liability, Assumption of risk and Indemnification fully and understand its terms. I understand and agree that I have given up rights by signing it and that I sign it freely and voluntarily without inducement.
